Course Overview

This course is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in the skills and knowledge required of an event manager. The program focusses on all aspects of event management via a relevant and specific event curriculum providing you with a flexible skill set that is relevant to many different industry roles and event types.

With a particular focus on the practical aspects of learning you will spend time out of the classroom observing events, meeting industry and seeing venues. Our Industry Engagement Program will connect you directly to the industry people that matter. Work experience, internships, volunteering and paid work experiences will give you the practical experience and industry connections needed for a successful start to your event career.

Online Plus Study Option

Our Online Plus study option gives you flexibility without sacrificing the practical components of the course. You will complete your online coursework progressively through our Cloud Campus. You will experience regular interaction with lecturers and ongoing webinars with industry experts. You will also attend two immersive workshops which include site visits, team activities and industry networking opportunities and you will work on live events as part of our Industry Engagement Program.

On Campus Study Option

This course is an immersive and collaborative learning experience taught by education and event industry specialists. You will learn a combination of theory and practice in a simulated event office environment that reflects ‘event agency’ work practices. Classwork is balanced with time in the field learning from observation and working on real events where you will have countless opportunities to work as a short term volunteer. Internships and paid event roles are also on offer while you study via our Industry Engagement Program.

The Diploma will provide you with a comprehensive and flexible skill set that will allow you to find employment in various roles within different sectors of the industry.

Upon completion of the Event Manager course, graduates will be able to work in such diverse fields as: Music, Arts and Community Festivals / Sporting events / Venues / Meetings and Conferences / Exhibitions / Government / Not-for-profit

Entry Requirements

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Completion of Year 12 (HSC, VCE etc) or tertiary qualification (Cert IV and above)*
  • Admissions Interview
    *If you cannot supply your secondary school records or tertiary qualification a literacy and numeracy test may be required….Our preferred assessment is Core Skills Profile for Adults (CSPA) provided by ACER

  • Each student will receive Microsoft Office 2016 (included in your course fees)
