This course is designed to provide you with a thorough introduction to the skills and knowledge required to work in events. The course content relates to the planning, production and evaluation of events and is relevant to many different event types and industry roles.

As a CoEM student you will have access to our exclusive recruitment agency Event Jobs Online where you can find volunteering opportunities, internships, contract work and permanent job roles. Our Industry Engagement Coordinator will help you prepare for work in the events industry.

Upon completion of the course, you will have developed a good understanding of the skills to work in such entry level roles as these: event assistant / event operations assistant / event sales assistant / venue coordinator / event administration / conference assistant / exhibitions assistant

Entry Requirements

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Can commit to approximately 10 hours of study per week
  • A strong command of English

IT Requirements

  • Access to a computer (Mac or PC) with the latest operating system
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Latest version of Firefox and Abode Flash player
  • Each student will receive Microsoft Office 2016 (this is included in your course fees)

Event Starter Online – $3,000

Payment Options

  1. Deposit of $500* + 5 x monthly advance payments of $500. No admin fees.
  2. Deposit of $500* + 20 x weekly payments of $125. Fees apply**
  3. Deposit of $100* + 50 x weekly payments of $58. Fees apply**

If you successfully complete Event Starter – Certificate III in Events you may be eligible for a place in our Event Manager program. Upon successful application, you will receive two unit credit transfers and a substantial reduction on the Event Manager tuition fees.

If you are an international student, you may be eligible to apply for Event Starter. Please note that we are not able to assist with student visa applications or transfers.
