Jon is the absolute ‘go-to’ guy and industry consultant in the areas of crowd risk and safety management for major events, tours and mass gatherings. With over 30 years of industry experience, he has been responsible for safety at events as diverse as HM Queen Elizabeth II Golden and Diamond Jubilee celebrations attended by over 1.6 million in London, the APEC gathering of 22 world leaders in Sydney, the Breakfast on the Bridge, The Adelaide Fringe, the first F1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi and the IPL cricket matches in 12 Indian cities. His touring experience varies from Dire Straits to Oasis and he has worked at sporting events from horse racing at Royal Ascot to International rugby matches at Twickenham. He is currently safety consultant to the Sydney Festival, The Biennale of Sydney, Adelaide Festival and Qudos Bank Arena.
Recent projects including writing and implementing the crowd management plan for the 100th anniversary Anzac Day dawn service in Martin Place, touring China with Linkin Park and Australia with Iron Maiden, safety for the Vivid Festival in Sydney and lecturing to event management students. And on top of all that, Jon holds a Fellowship of the Safety Institute of Australia, an FdA in Crowd and Safety Management and chairs the Australian Affiliate of the International Event Safety Alliance. In his spare time, he can be found imparting his wide knowledge of safety (and his fabulous stories) to students at College of Event Management.
