Like a lot of event managers, Patrick O’Reilly started at the bottom. That was 25+ years ago. He has since gone on to become a visionary in event concept and feasibility in the field of community festivals. His company Impact Exhibitions and Events of which he is founder, owner and director is small in stature but large when it comes to portfolio size; with Norton Street Italian Fiesta, Kings Cross Festival, Green Square Markets, Redfern Festival and the Leichhardt Long Lunch series among it’s offerings. As Patrick says, “There’s never a dull day.”
Previous to his diversification into major street festivals, Patrick came from an exhibition background where he successfully worked with major service providers to manage exhibitions across all large venues in many different industries including manufacturing, wood, metal, IT, law, lifestyle and design.
Patrick has been a regular guest lecturer at College of Event Management since 2013. His lectures reflect his specialisation in the area of event operations and site-design and gives great practical advice on life in the ‘real’ world such as, “Surround yourself with the best people you can.” Over the years Patrick has taken many CoEM students and graduates under his experienced wing.
